How to Ensure the Right Storage Conditions?

Storage conditions are vital for cocoa beans to maintain their quality for a long time. The ideal storage environment should be a clean and airy space with precise temperature and humidity control. Maintaining a constant temperature between 16-18°C is critical for the beans to retain their structure and flavor. Sudden changes in temperature can lead to moisture condensation on the surface of the beans and thus loss of quality.

Humidity control is as important as temperature. Relative humidity in the storage environment should be kept in the range of 60-65%. High humidity increases the risk of mold growth, while low humidity causes the kernels to dry out and become brittle. In addition, the storage area should be regularly ventilated and free of foreign odors.
